The past is lingering and polluting the future with its beauty. It's hard to forget the times that made me so happy and content that thinking of them now only brings the hidden pain buried deep inside my chest. Time is ticking and life is passing, sweet releases and bittersweet goodbyes drift on top of the summer breeze that flows through my hair... this is life. That is life, leaving the past and welcoming the future no matter what shade it brings. Learning to let loose your grip and throw caution to the wind, to take off your shoes and wiggle your toes in the white sand... to dream of things impossible, and to embrace the practical. Life is happening and this world is spinning as memories from another era flood my eyes like a movie without sound. Too much to handle, too much to grasp, too much to feel all at one time. Break open the fist and open your eyes, girl... let loose of this and take the step forward. Take a hold of the wheel and ignore the rearview mirror, press the pedal to the floor... we can do this. Memories shimmer with gold and silver like precious jewels hidden deep in the crevases of a sealed cave... eyes dance in the reflections but thirst for more glimmer. It is scary to let go, but a shame to watch life pass. Peering over the edge, staring into the unknown, ready for the plummet to the red earth... fly into the unkown with limbs waving and grasping for stability... no hands to hold, no familiar eyes - for once, this is just me... One last glance over my shoulder- my heart thirsts for the familiar pain, but my toes are dangling over the edge... chin up to the sky... prepare... and... . jump, girl.
